Hospital encrypted uploads, supported file formats, and storage limits

Prepare hospital uploads correctly, understand what file formats work best, and keep usage within the active plan storage limit.

How hospital uploads are stored

Hospital uploads are stored in the secure hospital data vault. Files remain encrypted and are not readable by EuropaHealthLinks until the hospital or the patient intentionally shares access through the workflow.

Supported formats

The best upload format is UTF-8 CSV with one record per row and consistent column names. JSON exports can also work well. TXT files can be used for simpler exports, and ZIP files are useful when sending one batch that contains multiple CSV or JSON exports from the same source system.

Preparation metadata

Before or during upload, provide the source system, record type, default department, identifier field, name field, email field, and notes that explain the data structure. These details improve structured preparation accuracy.

Storage rules

The active plan controls how much encrypted storage is available. When the plan expires or the storage limit is reached, new uploads are blocked until the hospital renews or upgrades.
